The following describes each type of service:

The accountant obtains a working knowledge of the industry, key aspects of the business-organization, operating methods, products and services. Make inquiries related the to the financial statements, including, record keeping practices, accounting policies, actions of the board of directors, change in business activities, subsequent events, apply analytical procedures designed to identify unusual items or trends in the financial that may need explanation, and obtain management representations.

Compilation
The CPA becomes familiar with accounting practices common to the industry, acquires general understanding of the client’s transactions and how they are recorded.
